Online Contributions

The World Ocean Observatory is not a conventional membership organization relying on annual dues and continuous solicitation of funds. Our intent is to support our work through direct gifts by corporations, foundations, and individuals. We are organized to maximize the efficiencies of the Internet, to deliver independent programs and responsible services at no cost to the ocean community worldwide, and to minimize operational expense whenever possible. To that end, we cap our overhead at no more than 5% of funds raised.

Contributions are administered as restricted funds by the Open Space Institute, a US IRS qualified 501(c)3 organization, are audited annually, and are tax-deductible under applicable law.
