Subscription Services

The ocean community is estimated to be over 500 million persons worldwide, comprised of aquariums, science centers, maritime museums, and environmental organizations. All are an essential network for the global distribution of ocean information.
The World Ocean Observatory has created a subscription-based service of audio/visual material to share amongst its users. Content modules, provided twice a year on major ocean issues, will contain: original and curated films (HD content on DVD-ROM) for your kiosks and theaters; an educational resource package; and a publicity widget for your institutional website to announce events and measure interest.
You are invited to augment your institutional interpretive resources through these services, which will be provided twice per year. The first module, "Ocean and Climate", is available AT NO COST to its users thanks to a gift from an anonymous donor.
View a trailer here of "Acid Test" narrated by Sigourney Weaver. Contact us for this free HD content on DVD-ROM, as well as a second, original program in HD, "World Ocean Day, Copenhagen".
Future module themes will include:
Ocean Biodiversity, featuring an original production in the Caribbean and specially formatted, curated content from the Census of Marine Life;
Ocean Energy, featuring original production with algae research done by Craig Venter's team and the latest in deep offshore wind energy turbines;
Biotechnology.
Subscribers also receive our weekly radio broadcast, WORLD OCEAN RADIO. Each 3 to 5-minute radio broadcast will be automatically emailed to you as an mp3 file each Friday and is available for you to use absolutely free for syndication, RSS feed, or podcast. In these diverse broadcasts, we provide coverage of a broad spectrum of ocean issues from science and education to advocacy and exemplary projects. You can listen to more samplings from the catalogue of 125 weekly radio broadcasts by visiting World Ocean Radio or by visiting us on ITunes.
